I'm Christine Vesterby. I run Folio LLC, a bookkeeping firm in North Carolina.
When I started my firm, I priced clients from a spreadsheet I built myself. It had a tab for my rates, a tab for cleanup and more formulas than I'd like to admit. It still wasn't enough, because so much goes into a price.
There's how many accounts they have and how far behind the books are. There's payroll, sales tax and 1099s. There's the client who answers every email and the one who texts at 9 p.m. And there's the cleanup nobody mentions on the discovery call.
I wanted one place that accounted for all of it, so I could get the price right the first time. Then the conversation with the client could be about what I'd be helping them with, instead of about the number.
I didn't have that when I started, so I built it for the bookkeepers and accountants coming up now, and for the ones who've been guessing at their prices for years.
