Effective October 23, 2026

The Pricing Calculator is a tool to help bookkeepers and accountants think through what to charge. It is not advice.

Estimates, not answers

Every fee, hour count, rate, complexity level, package and recommendation in the calculator is an estimate based on the inputs you give it and on general defaults. Your market, your experience, your speed, your software, your client and your costs are all different. You are responsible for checking the numbers and deciding what to charge.

Not professional advice

Nothing in the calculator, its guides, its videos or the reports it makes is legal, tax, accounting, financial, insurance or business advice for your situation. Using it doesn't create a client relationship with Folio LLC. For advice about your own firm, contracts, taxes or compliance, talk to a qualified professional.

Proposals and scopes of work

Scopes of work, payment terms and proposal wording in the calculator are starting points. Read them before you send them, change them to fit how you work, and have your own engagement letter reviewed. You are responsible for what you send to clients and what you agree to.

Industry add-ons

The industry sections (for example medical and HIPAA, construction, law firms, food and beverage) are pricing prompts, not compliance guidance. They don't tell you what the rules are for an industry or whether you meet them.

Features that use your own AI

If you use the optional features that connect to your own AI, the answers can be wrong or miss things. Treat them like a first draft from an assistant and check them against the documents yourself.

Scope, engagement letter and value checks

The scope of work and engagement letter checks look for wording that strong documents usually include. A good score doesn't mean a document is legally sound, enforceable or right for your state. Have an attorney licensed in your state write or review your engagement letter.

Laws, programs and information from other websites

Some parts of the calculator show general information gathered from public websites, like state retirement program rules, IRS reporting thresholds and tax preparer requirements. We link the source wherever we can and note when we last checked it. That information can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and it can change at any time. It is a starting point for your own research, not a statement of the law. Before you rely on it or pass it on to a client, confirm it with the official source, like the state program, the IRS or a qualified professional.

Benefits and payroll tax estimates

The benefits and payroll tax estimate for group members uses generic numbers and takes a conservative amount off. It is a conversation starter, not a quote, a promise of savings or tax advice. Real numbers need an employee census and a qualified provider.

Member benchmarks

Pricing benchmarks in the Member Hub come from what members choose to share. We don't check them, and they aren't market data or a recommended price.

Sales Calls add-ons

The call process, intake questions, discovery questions and objection notes are general starting points to rewrite in your own words. The call score counts things like talk time and questions. It's a rough guide, not a measure of how good a call was. Coaching from your AI can be wrong or miss context. How many prospects sign depends on many things the calculator can't see.

Tax Add-On

The tax prices are starting points drawn from published fee surveys and firm price lists. They aren't a market standard. Tax notes in the calculator (like PTIN rules, who can represent clients before the IRS, and state preparer rules) are general reminders, not tax or legal advice, and rules change. Check the rules that apply to you.

BGN Tools

The benefits and payroll tax estimate is a rough conversation starter based on a partner's ballpark figures, not a quote. State retirement plan rules are summarized from public sources as of October 2026 and change often. Confirm with the state program before you advise a client.

Results

We don't promise any result from using the calculator, including more revenue, higher fees, closed deals or profit.
